 | Vivienne Dornan leads Mosaic which meets monthly
I became a Christian in 1966 through Scripture Union in school in Northern Ireland. The main spiritual influences on my early years were through the Anglican Church of Ireland and the Baptist/Brethren traditions. I studied German and French at Durham University and completed my teacher training at Queen's University in Belfast. My first job was in Bangor N.I. where I also became involved with Bangor Christian Fellowship, a group which had its roots in praying for reconciliation and renewal in N.I. at the height of the ''Troubles'' there. Through the Fellowship I met and married Peter Dornan in 1981 and we now have 4 boys Chris, Patrick, Stuart and Ryan. We became founder members of C.F.C. in Belfast and still maintain close links with the church there.
I n 1987 we moved to England with Peter's job, first to the Midlands then Kent, back up to the Midlands and finally to Scotland in 1994. We have lived in Gullane since then. Peter works in Edinburgh for the insurance company Aegon and I am a full-time housewife. I have enjoyed serving the church in various ways over the years and currently help to lead a monthly meeting called Mosaic. The aim of this group is to provide an opportunity for Christians to get together in a relaxed environment for worship, prayer and teaching, to exhort encourage and support one another and eventually perhaps to bring together Christians of other denominations who also seek these things as well as inviting those who don't yet know the Lord into an environment where they can sense His presence and come to know Him.

"Hi, we are Mark and Cindy Dean. Mark is a geologist and Cindy is a nurse and we've been married since 1977. East Lothian has been our home (as well as that of our 17 year old son Nicholas) for 13 years now, and we just cannot get enough of the beautiful sea and countryside that surrounds us - especially when our 2 year old cocker spaniel 'Lady' decides it's time for 'walkies'!
We became Christians in the 1980s and are now active members of the NBCF. From coffee mornings to helping the homeless you will often find us involved. But our real delight is running Alpha courses and 'exploring the meaning of life' with others. Fancy giving it a go? We very much hope to meet you soon." | | | | Adam and Christine lead the Dunbar small group which meets weekly.
Adam and Christine met at university. They had both been bought up in traditional church going families, but not had or expected to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Shortly after they started going out together Adam was made powerfully aware of the sin in his life, after meeting someone who God had asked to speak to him about his life, and it all started from there. There have been ups and downs, but Adam and Christine are still together and getting to know Jesus nearly 15 years later!
Adam and Christine have previously led small groups for churches in London and Bedford and moved to Dunbar in 2004. They have two sons: Alexander (3) and William (newborn!). Christine works for Edinburgh University and Adam works at the Museum of Flight. | | | | Bill is the pastor of North Berwick Christian Fellowship.
Bill and his wife Sally have been married for 33 years and have two sons: Paul and Jonny. Having served for close on 25 years in a major city church in Edinburgh, they have been leading the fellowship in North Berwick since 1997. Bill came to Christ in 1971 having been involved in the rock music scene in Edinburgh; he enjoys playing guitar, dabbling on keyboards and walking the coastline. Bill serves the fellowship on a full time basis and Sal is very much with him in his work-she also works as a nanny. | | | | Hannah is one of the Youth Alpha leaders.
I'm a local eighteen-year-old who finished at North Berwick High School two years ago and since has studied Drama at college and has just recently returned from teaching in Africa in February 2006. Having always been a Christian (fortunately, I feel) I went to a church in Edinburgh and the school attached to this church until I moved to North Berwick where my family joined the NBCF. With many family friends from our Edinburgh church having moved there too, there was a nice welcoming and family atmosphere for us. I've been there ever since. Through thick and thin shall we say.
My walk with God has been great. I can't say everything's been perfect but that's because I'm not perfect. God brought me through the difficult teenage years, not without lots of girly tears. He strengthened me and gave me confidence and he certainly directed me down the right path. In my early teenage years I was always in the background as a shy, self-conscious, and very sensitive girl. Now I'm a confident, outspoken and friendly person who is heading down the acting career path. I think that shows some sort of turn around (and I won't even try to take credit for it). Someone once told me, at the age of 14 or 15, that I was like a flowering Lily waiting to blossom and that as time progressed this 'flower' would come into full bloom. I think I can now safely say that I've 'bloomed'.
